Staff Biographies
Mr. Jason McLendon, President and C.E.O.
As a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. McLendon served as an Anti-Terrorism Officer as well as a law enforcement officer and security specialist. He has been responsible for anti-terrorism programs both in the United States as well as in high-threat theaters of operations overseas, including managing the training of personnel, developing plans and programs, and conducting threat and vulnerability assessments. He has also been responsible for the security of U.S. military nuclear assets as well as serving as the commander of a military Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team. During this time, Mr. McLendon also received extensive protective services training and served as an anti-terrorism instructor. His civilian experience in the field includes serving as a police officer at both the municipal and county levels, serving as a police instructor at the San Antonio College Law Enforcement Training Academy, working with several contract security agencies in both line and staff positions, working as a Protective Services Specialist (bodyguard), working as a private investigator, and serving as an Emergency Medical Technician. He is a protective services instructor, anti-terrorism driving instructor, first aid/CPR instructor, defensive tactics/baton/OC instructor, firearms instructor, less-lethal weapons instructor, martial arts instructor, hostage negotiator, TASER instructor, CBRNE-H instructor, and hazardous materials technician, to name a few. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in Justice and Public Safety with a specialization in the area of Security Administration, and a Master's Degree from Webster University in Business and Organizational Security Management. Mr. McLendon also holds the coveted Certified Protection Professional designation from the American Society for Industrial Security.
Mr. Ken Lewis, Vice-President
Ken Lewis is a Range Master, Firearms Instructor, and Training and Range Consultant with over 24 years of military and law enforcement experience. Prior to joining the National Protective Services team, he was the Range Program Manager at UXB International Inc. and Concept Planner with AMEC Earth and Environmental. Mr. Lewis is the principle operational adviser in development of RATPAC™. He has held leadership and management doctrine positions, and worked a broad range of specialties throughout his career, such as; communication systems, facility maintenance, law enforcement/security, Leader/Member/Trainer for Emergency Service Teams (SWAT), small arms shooting and repair, and instructing/teaching intellectual and mechanical skills. Mr. Lewis has extensive experience in project and program management. Noted speaker, writer and an Eagle Scout, he is a member of the NRA-Life, TSRA, IALEFI, ILEETA, NSSF, and SAME. He holds an A.A. in Security Administration from the Community College of the Air Force, an A.A. in Business Management from Wayland Baptist University, a B.S. in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University, and a Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University..
