Please see course descriptions for more detailed information, time allotments, and pricing.  Students must register (using NPS registration form) at least 7 days before course start date to guarantee seat.  50% deposit required to guarantee seat.  Safety equipment, lunch, travel, range fees, ammunition and firearm rentals are extra.  Family and group discounts available.  TCLEOSE and DPS PSB credit can be awarded for most courses.  DPS PSB will accept any course TCLEOSE will accept.

0900-1500:  Advanced Concealed Handgun License (CHL) Course      $125.00

National Protective Services Institute (NPSI) is pleased to announce an advanced (skill building) CHL course for current CHL permit holders. Preregistration is required. The class is limited to a maximum of 10 students. The Advanced CHL course will review the law, range and safe handling rules, and cover such topics as: firearms cleaning, care, storage, firearm presentation, stance, grip, trigger control, sight alignment, point shooting, malfunction drills, reloading drills, techniques for drawing from a concealed carry, engaging targets, tactical flashlight techniques, tactics, techniques for shooting from and using cover and concealment, as well as moving and shooting techniques. Each student is required to provide a functional and serviceable handgun and 150 rounds of ammunition, holster, at least one extra magazine or a speed loader/speed strip and flashlight.

This course provides the Level III training and certification as required by the State of Texas, including both classroom and firearms range qualification. This is the certification required for all Commissioned Officers (Armed Security Officers). 150 rounds required.

Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) credit can be awarded. CPR only for Lifeguards is discounted.
